It's True, You Are a Fighter! #DNFighter

We've all had to face some struggles in our life, ranging from petty struggles like not wanting to get out of bed in the morning or not knowing what to eat for lunch, to life changing struggles like not being able to conceive children or being diagnosed with an illness that's possibly terminal. Life is full of struggles, battles, and things we need to try and overcome.

I personally know the struggle of trying to conceive, it's something that changed my life for years... Not knowing when I would be blessed with a child, worrying that it may never happen, and spending days, months, then years wondering if I would ever achieve my ultimate goal in life - becoming a mama. While I wasn't the only one struggling with infertility at the time, it occasionally felt like it.

So that's why I'm sharing my struggle today, the best way to find comfort while fighting an internal battle is to seek comfort in others and to share what you are experiencing. This one simple step can change the way you look at your struggle, the way you "fight your battle", and the way you cope with the end result. I'm so happy to say the battle with infertility is finally over and we're expecting our first little baby in about a month... but that doesn't mean I don't understand the struggle.

While there are all kinds of struggles that people are facing in life, I find it especially interesting that I shared a mutual struggle with David Nail - a fellow Missouri native and an award-winning country singer who has also been through the ringer while trying to conceive a baby with his beautiful wife.

While I would never wish infertility on anyone, it is nice to hear a celebrity discuss their troubles so openly. I found some comfort in finding out him and his wife have faced the same battles, have fought to become parents, and they also have achieved their dream and are the proud parents of twins! I think of David and his wife, Catherine, as an inspiration to myself and to many others fighting their own battles.

They aren't just an inspiration because they know the struggle of trying to conceive though, David inspires me with his music and the vulnerability he shares. Actually let's be honest, he's real, raw, and emotional in all of his music but this most recent album, Fighter, is just what I need to hear to continue fighting small daily battles and when my baby is kicking while we are listening to his tunes, it's the perfect reminder that the struggle and the fight to win the battle are almost always worth the end result.
