Baby Essentials from Boon

Today's the day, Delainey is six months! I'll be posting her monthly update soon, but right this second I think we need to talk about something a little different. Let me start by saying, these last six months have flown by. I some how have this wild child on my hands, who has mastered her banchee yell and is sitting up on her own already, and I'm just sitting over here wondering what happened to my newborn?

But here's the deal, we made it. Through a few sleepless nights, through her first fever, through her first stuffy nose, through her first boo boo, through her first bout with hair loss (but seriously...she's bald now y'all), through so many firsts I can't even count... and I'm lucky enough to be by her side through it all and it's happening SO fast!

While time couldn't be going any quicker, I've still managed to fit in a few seconds to make sure D only has the best of the best. I want to make sure she has the cutest clothes, the coolest toys, and of course, even the best of the essentials is a must in our home! Boon CARE is the best of the essentials. With a thermometer, that reads so quickly a baby may not even notice their temperature being taken and the flexible tip, gauging a fever is as painless as possible.

On the same note as pain, the Silicone toothbrush is possibly D's favorite in the kit. Gentle on the gums but perfect for her poor little teething self. It's the perfect little tool to encourage her to brush her teeth and show her how it's done.

Speaking of showing her how it's all done, I think she's mastered getting a manicure. Do you see that attitude seeping through her photo below? It's all real sass people, already. One thing that may "save you" when your babe has their first stuffy nose is a nasal aspirator. Sure, it sounds a little strange, but you never have any mucus reach your mouth but are able to suck ALL of the "gold" out! Luckily, it's all caught inside of a cotton ball (the easiest filter ever). It's gross to think of sucking boogers, I know, but so are SO many things parents do for their babies AND giving your baby the relief a nasal aspirator provides is seriously the best thing ever when they aren't feeling great.

As the seasoned mamas know, when babies aren't feeling great, one of the top things on your list of essentials will likely be a medicine spoon... luckily one is included in the Boon CARE kit! The removable soft dispenser and the easy to read measuring labels make this spoon an essential, for sure. Actually, I almost guarantee we will use this handy little spoon for years to come when it's necessary to give D medicine!

The last item in the Boon Care kit is the cradle cap brush! With soft bristles that gently massage the scalp, this is a must in our home. We actually received a brush from the hospital and managed to misplace it, luckily this brush is even better and it's perfect to make sure the little bit of hair D does have is styled well, underneath her bow anyways!
